Went for breakfast with the family, and its as good as its ever been! The chicken fried steak was so big and very delicious! Someone also got an old fashioned and they had a whole wall of liquor for u to choose what brand you want. Will definitely be back!
Ham omelets, hash browns, were ok. Biscuit and sausage gravy were excellent. Bliody mary was not so good. Whatever mix they are using is terrible. Waitress seemed not a people person and may have been new.
Delightful food!! I personally got the breakfast tacos which seem to be a special. No complaints at all there. Waiter—Ben—was super nice as well, atmosphere was pretty much flawless, even the bathrooms were pretty much spotless far as I could tell. Nice, clean, delicious little spot.
Shonda is amazing!!! Food was delicious! Shonda makes excellent Long Island Ice Teas! Definitely will be back anytime I'm in Waterloo!
newtons is such a cute little cafe to dine at, in downtown waterloo! quick and friendly service, my server Jess never fails to make my visits a wonderful time, will request her every single time! the crab rangoon nachos are my favorite food item here! :)
What a gem! The food, service, and atmosphere were all superb. They have a limited state fair menu that was absolutely delicious. We had the fruity pebbles Iowa toast and the breakfast tacos which included candied bacon, egg, chipotle aioli and cheese all in a pancake “tortilla”. In town from Texas and look forward to coming back when we visit.
So good! The staff was so kind and helpful and there were many options available, including gluten free and vegetarian. I hadn't gone since ownership changed, but I'm so glad I did. And parking around dinnertime wasn't an issue at all, even with some construction going on. Can't beat breakfast all day either. My 4 year old got a kids breakfast meal and it was a big portion! Pictured are Parm fries, chicken ceasar wrap (special menu), hot honey chicken (special menu), breakfast burger, and French dip. Not pictured were the crab rangoon nachos that were devoured too.
Went on a Thursday night and had the patio completely to ourselves on a beautiful evening! Service was quick and attentive. We ordered the make your own mac & cheese, adult grilled cheese and BLT, with parmesan fries. The food was hot, delicious and HUGE portions! Only slight complaint was that the mac & cheese used velveeta (we assume due to taste) and is not our preference. Everything was very good otherwise! Great vibe and decently priced $56 for three of us (with NA drinks) with plenty of leftovers.
